Biography

Catherine Wright is vice president of brand and communications at BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT), where she leads the development and execution of a comprehensive global communications and brand strategy in support of the company’s mission, business objectives and long-term growth. In this role, she oversees internal and external communications, executive visibility, media relations, crisis communications, and brand engagement, ensuring a consistent and trusted voice across all stakeholders.

Prior to joining BWXT, Wright founded Indigo Strategic Consulting, where she advised executive teams on strategic marketing and communications initiatives during periods of significant change, including new product launches, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational transformation.

Previously, Wright served as acting vice president of global communications at L3Harris, a Fortune 200 aerospace and defense company, leading all enterprise communications functions and a global team of 20. Earlier in her career, as senior director of communications at corporate headquarters, she served as the communications project engineer for a $34 billion merger and a $5 billion acquisition, directing all internal, external and functional stakeholder communications through close.

Earlier roles included leadership of enterprise executive and employee communications, brand relaunches, digital platforms, and integrated trade show strategies. She also led the L3Harris Global Innovation Center, a digital experience showcasing advanced technology capabilities to customers, partners and government stakeholders worldwide.

Wright began her career as a mechanical engineer, designing deployable space reflectors, and progressed through roles in project engineering, engineering management, acquisition analysis, business development and senior marketing leadership—bringing a uniquely technical, systems-oriented approach to communications strategy.

Wright earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in business management from the University of Florida. She is also a graduate of the University of Virginia Darden Executive Education program and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton Executive Education program.
