Biography

Harshini Sivakumar grew up in Rochester, Michigan and graduated from Georgia Tech with her Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2021. While at GT, she was the president of SAESAC (School of Aerospace Engineering Student Advisory Council), worked at the AE Maker Space, and was a board member with WoAA (Women of Aeronautics and Astronautics) After an internship with Boeing in Flight Sciences after her junior year, she decided to join Boeing full-time after graduation, working as a Systems Engineer in the Washington D.C. Area.

After a year, she moved into a Systems Engineering and Operations Team Lead role, where she has been working for the last 2.5 years. She manages a team of engineers in the operation of multiple space vehicle and ground hardware systems, working to solve time-critical and highly dynamic anomalies and collaborating with a variety of government contractors. This fall, Harshini will be returning to school to pursue her MBA at Harvard Business School. She was admitted to HBS via the 2+2 program in 2021 and is now starting her degree after a 4-year deferral period. Her goals post-MBA are to work at the intersection of technology and business within the aerospace industry, in focus areas such as strategy, business development or venture capital.

Outside of work, Harshini loves to bake, read, watch movies, and spend time with friends, family and her fiancé Jun, a fellow GT alum currently pursuing his MD at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. As a mentor, Harshini would love to help in any way that she can, specifically in discussing how to transition from college into early-career, maximizing your GT experience, general career development advice including career fair and interview prep, and navigating non-technical or blended graduate school/career options within the aerospace industry.
