John Rusin is the General Manager of Liaison Engineering for Delta Air Lines Technical Operations. He leads a team of engineers supporting Line and Base Maintenance across Delta’s network and Global MRO partners, delivering safe, timely, and technically sound solutions in a complex 24/7 operational environment.
Previously, John served as General Manager of Avionics Engineering and Aircraft Cybersecurity, where he led engineers responsible for reliability and regulatory actions across Delta’s 980+ aircraft and oversaw the Aircraft Information Security Program. Before that, he served as General Manager of Component Engineering, leading engineering support across mechanical and avionics systems, metal and composite aerostructures, and landing gear and braking systems.
John joined Delta in 2012 as an engineering Co-op and has held roles ranging from engineer to Fleet Manager, including responsibility for the mechanical reliability of Delta’s B757 and B767 fleets. He also represents Delta on the International Air Transport Association Technical Operations Working Group, where he serves as the only representative from a U.S.-based carrier.
John earned his bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He lives in Mableton, Georgia, with his wife, Felicia, and their two daughters, Annie and Laura. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family and building furniture.
