Biography

Kendra Kirkland is a member of the U.S. Foreign Service, currently serving in the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in New York City. She joined the Department of State as a Management Officer in 2010.

Kendra served abroad in consular and logistics roles at U.S. embassies and consulates in Port Louis, Mauritius; Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; Toronto, Canada, and Lima, Peru. Her domestic assignments include Crisis Management Officer in the State Department’s 24/7 Operations Center and Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of State for Management in Washington, DC.

Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Kendra worked as a Test Engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, where she interned during the summers and was selected as a Sikorsky Scholar. She later transitioned to  management Consulting and is a certified Project Management Professional.

Kendra holds a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

She is originally from Charleston, South Carolina and enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and snowboarding
