Biography

Maddie Sibilia is currently a Light Test Support Pilot at The Boeing Company, based in Seattle, WA. Her primary responsibility is the transport of aircrew members to and from off-site locations in support of production and engineering flight test, flying a Pilatus PC-12, with a secondary role as the lead pilot for an experimental Cessna 208B Caravan used as a flying testbed and technology demonstrator. Prior to transitioning to her role as a pilot, Maddie spent 5 years at Boeing Oklahoma City as a systems engineer for the C-32/C-40 Program, primarily working on avionics upgrades and providing on-site engineering support for maintenance/sustainment, modification and repair activities. It was also during these 5 years that Maddie earned her private pilot certificate and advanced ratings and spent 2.5 years flight instructing concurrently with her work at Boeing.

Maddie graduated with her bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech in May 2019, also earning a minor in Engineering & Business as a Denning Technology & Management Scholar. During her 5 years at the Institute, she was heavily involved in New Student & Transition Programs as a Wreck Camp counselor/director and FASET leader, and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. She also competed with the Georgia Tech Swim Club, winning 2 individual national titles in 2015, taking part in the 2018 & 2019 team titles, and serving as meet director for the 2017 & 2018 National Championship meets. Maddie interned at Lockheed Martin in C-130 Flight Test, which planted the seed of interest in flight test and was the inspiration for wanting to learn to fly, but did not begin flying until post-college shortly after beginning her career with Boeing in Everett, WA in 2019.

In her free time, Maddie enjoys cooking/baking, paddle boarding, reading, flying for pleasure, staying active at the gym/in the pool, traveling and spending time with friends/family.
