Niyanti (Niya) Perry is the General Manager of Delta Air Lines’ Airbus Fleet Engineering team, where she leads the safety, compliance, and reliability efforts for a fleet of over 500 Airbus aircraft.
Niya began her journey in aviation as an Aerospace Engineering student at Georgia Tech in 2008. Her passion for the industry took flight in 2010 during a co-op with Delta Air Lines’ Propulsion Engineering organization, where she applied classroom theory to real-world challenges.
She went on to intern at The Boeing Company in Seattle, contributing to the KC-46 tanker program within the Reliability and Maintainability department. After graduating, Niya joined Pratt & Whitney as a design engineer in the Cold Section Engineering department, focusing on design and quality investigations for both military and commercial jet engines.
Driven by a desire to return to aviation operations, Niya rejoined Delta’s Technical Operations team in Atlanta. She held roles in Propulsion Engineering as a Shop and Reliability Engineer for the CF6 and BR715 engines, and later expanded her expertise to airframe systems, supporting the A330, B757, and A220 fleets as a Reliability Engineer.
In 2019, Niya transitioned into leadership as Manager of the Line Demand Planning team, optimizing maintenance execution strategies across Delta’s global fleet. In 2022, she became General Manager of Fleet Programs, overseeing Maintenance Programs and Technical Instructions, with a focus on optimizing maintenance requirements and delivering clear, executable documentation.
In 2025, Niya returned to Fleet Engineering in her current role. She remains deeply passionate about aviation and is a dedicated advocate for Delta’s co-op program. She is also an active member of Delta TechOps’ SHE LEADS organization, supporting the advancement of women in aviation.
Niya and her husband, a fellow Tech AE grad, live in Smyrna with their 2 children.
